KNVB - Inflow

Role: Illustrator / Animator

Near the end of 2023 the KNVB got in touch with me to work on a proposal for their football youth campaign. They wanted a Disney-like, cutesy artstyle for the animation segments underlining interviews of high-profile Dutch players. With creative agency ODB working on the storyboards, my first task was to make these style drafts.

  • styleframe 1 entered as early reference

  • styleframe 2 entered as early reference

  • Alt style reference. Only to be used when player is on screen. Idea was later abandoned

  • Key visual, used in on- and offline promotion

After a greenlight, I started on stylesheets for the characters. I went for a 1=1 approach to building the bodies. They were largely interchangeable, leaving the head shapes, hair, clothing and of course faces to be tweaked. To keep it cute I made I kept the length of both head and body equal.
